Extensive experience in planning, developing and managing programs, events, courses, workshops, seminars, meetings, conferences, and exhibits throughout the country. Work as part of a team by providing consultation, guidance and direction in support of areas to include searches for event sites, contract negotiation, web site content, advertising strategy, budgeting, abstract submission, exhibit and program development, registration, housing, etc., while working as part of the team to monitor all aspects of the event.
Research event venues, hotel, meeting, exhibit, banquet sites; negotiate contracts; reserve hotel rooms; evaluate/select suppliers, i.e., audio visual, catering, exhibits, poster boards, transportation, etc.; develop and monitor budget; assist with web site design/content; respond to inquiries; process registrations; arrange travel; manage abstract submission process; maintain dialog with participants regarding the status of abstract submissions, registrations, etc.; manage advertising and print material; develop comprehensive programs, announcements, invitations, registration material, badges; oversee the order and set up of food/beverage functions, meeting room layouts, exhibit and poster layout, A/V requirements, and registration and program material.
Onsite, supervise/manage staff and volunteers, setup of the registration area, as well as work behind the scenes to oversee details associated with the event to include meeting room and A/V set-ups, exhibit and poster setup, oversee food functions, direct signage placement, work to keep sessions on time, etc.
